Seven of our nine clubs are in the mix for Metro League medals after an intriguing Round 5 at Grays Point on Sunday.Three out of the four Div 1 sides could win, while all four Div 6 teams are still in the running as they head into the last round at Glenbrook on Sep 6.
Those grades are on a first past the post system.
In the four divisions where finals will be contested, the closest match-up is in Division 2 where WHO and SHOO-IKO remarkably finished equal on match points and for-and-against.
WHO's Division 5 side is the only unbeaten team across 86 matches in the 2026 season.
The updated draw will be posted on the ML web page later this week.

Last weekend heralded the return of the NSW Relay Champs after an absence of more than 15 years.The format was a bit different to nationals, with each pair running two legs each at Wianamatta Regional Park in western Sydney.
Host club WHO enjoyed five wins across the 12 classes while Garingal was crowned the Relay champions overall on 29 points. WHO and Big Foot were equal second on 14.
On Sunday it was a State League event at Mitchell Park to celebrate 50 years since that map was first used.

NSW selectors are happy to announce the team for the 2026 Australian Schools champs to be held in the ACT in late September.

Congratulations to Garingal legends Barbara and Ron Junghans who have been presented with a prestigious Distinguished Long Service Award by Sport NSW.This award recognises individual officials, coaches, administrators, and event organisers who have demonstrated extraordinary unwavering dedication to fostering and advancing sport in their communities for over 25 years.
The Junghans were among 26 such recipients at the annual Sport NSW community sport awards, held on Monday.
“They have been dedicated champions for their sport and have provided a magnificent community legacy for others to aspire to and follow,” said Sport NSW Chief Executive Stuart Hodge.
